Stanly Community College (SCC) celebrated the groundbreaking of its brand new Cosmetology facility on Thursday, August 27, on the Albemarle campus.
The 13,000 square foot facility will be located adjacent to the Snyder Building. The new center will have the capacity to allow 50 students to learn their craft in a spa-like setting. The center should be completed by the spring of 2016.
SCC’s Cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment that enables students to develop manipulative skills.
For additional information on the construction of this facility, contact Ms. Becky Wall, Chief Financial Officer at 704-991-0176. For information on the SCC Cosmetology program, please contact Mr. David Smith at 704-991-0376.
