On Tuesday, March 15th, Stanly County voters overwhelmingly supported the Connect NC Public Improvement Bond with 57% of the vote. Stanly Community College’s faculty, staff, and especially its students, greatly appreciate your support. We are gladdened by your recognition that education is a priority for our college and its ability to change lives in Stanly County.
Overall, this bond will be able to help North Carolina maintain its infrastructure for the 21st century through statewide investments in higher education, agriculture, state parks, National Guard, and water and sewer improvements. Specifically for Stanly Community College (SCC), this investment of $5,510,980 will allow for badly needed repairs, deferred campus maintenance, and renovations to existing classroom facilities. Our next step is to prioritize these capital needs and begin the process which includes project approvals by SCC Board of Trustees and the State Board of Community Colleges.
Again, we appreciate the continued support of Stanly County taxpayers and look to continue our efforts in bringing an affordable and a quality education to our students.
