WWII Veterans to be Honored at Annual Luncheon

Stanly Community College (SCC), in conjunction with the Albemarle Rotary Club, will honor the WWII Veterans during the Annual Stanly County WWII Veterans luncheon. The luncheon will be held at noon, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at CHS-Stanly, Family and Education Center, North Second Street and Hawthorne Avenue, in Albemarle.

The Stanly County WWII Veterans recognition program was first held in 2004 with over 255 veterans in attendance. Dr. Michael Taylor, retired President of SCC, and one of the sponsoring founders of the Stanly County WWII Veterans recognition program, will be the keynote speaker.

The North Carolina Singing Americans of Stanly County, a unique organization composed of singers throughout Stanly County, who love to share their faith and patriotism through singing performances, will be performing at the event.

First Bank will be sponsoring the meals for the veterans and guests.

All World War II Veterans are invited to attend this annual luncheon. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served promptly at noon. To reserve a seat, veterans are asked to contact Donna Jones, Stanly Community College, at (704) 991-0217, no later than May 1, 2019.
