This course is part of the Stanly Community College Multi-Skilled Nurse Aide Certificate Program. It is designed for nurse aides and other healthcare personnel as an add-on skill training. The class is not intended for individuals seeking employment in healthcare, unless they have (or are pursuing) other healthcare credentials (for example, nurse aide I and phlebotomy).

It includes an overview of heart anatomy and physiology. Students also learn how to prepare patients for EKG analysis and how to recognize abnormalities in EKG strips.
