This 21-week online course is designed to educate technologists in the post-primary practice of magnetic resonance imaging. The course consists of 144 didactic hours and 284 clinical hours. Core topics include, but are not limited to patient interactions and management, safety and screening, physical principles of image formation, sequence parameters and options, data acquisition and processing, and magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Students will perform magnetic resonance examinations and related duties at various clinical sites under the supervision of magnetic resonance imaging technologists. Upon completion, students are eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist post-primary exam in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Individuals entering this course must be registered or a registry-eligible radiologic technologist, radiation therapist, or nuclear medicine technologist.
