Section Name MLS-387401-115 Comments: Location is the Albemarle Campus, Snyder Building room 213, 2nd Floor. Tuition fee of $70.50 is due at registration. Textbook is required and is available for purchase in the SCC Bookstore. Go to NC Secretary of State website; Notary Division; shows latest book required. Notary Public Students must meet the following qualifications: - Be at least 18 years of age or legally emancipated - Reside or have a regular place of work or business in this State - Reside legally in the United States - Speak, read, and write the English Language - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. This class does qualify as a re- certification course for current Notary Publics. Proof of textbook in class along with a minimum score of 80% on the exam are required for Notary certification. Students must also bring their valid state or federal picture ID to class. This class is conducted on Saturday and begins promptly at 9am and will have a 30 minute lunch break, bring your lunch if preferred. NC requires a minimum of: 6 hour course, successful completion of final exam at 80% or higher, submission of application and fee to NCSOS, and taking the "oath" at the Register of Deeds office. Successful candidates must purchase their seal and stamp. Upon completion of ALL, the individuals are then commissioned to perform notarial acts. Textbook is required.
