Spend the Summer Learning

College may seem like a long way off, but Camp College at SCC gives area youth the opportunity to explore programs offered on campus and get a glimpse of what their future could hold as a SCC student. Each camp is designed to help campers meet new friends while exploring diverse interests.

Python Programming:

Code Snakes

Become immersed in the world of Python, learning fundamental programming concepts through hands-on projects. Participants collaborate to build interactive applications, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills. By the end, students gain confidence in their coding abilities and a solid foundation for further exploration in computer science.

Graphic Design:

Visual Vortex

This introduction to graphic design covers principles like composition, color theory, and typography. Students will learn user-friendly design software to create digital artwork, logos, and visual projects. Participants will develop their creative expression and learn practical design skills applicable to various media.

Trades:

Nuts & Bolts Boot camp

From the precision of machining and the sparks of welding to the raw power of heavy equipment and construction, you’ll see how big ideas become reality.
You won't just be watching, you’ll be doing. Campers will get hands-on with professional gear. By the end of the week, you’ll have sharpened your problem-solving skills, discovered how things work from the inside out, and built a custom project of your own to take home.

Beauty by the Book

As an introduction to cosmetology, this camp covers basic hair styling, nail care, and skincare techniques. The camp fosters creativity and self-expression, while also offering a glimpse into potential career paths in the beauty industry. Campers will get to keep their mannequin head and supplies at the end of the week.
