This course introduces the foundational knowledge and practical skills required for entry-level roles in cybersecurity operations, including SOC Analyst (Level 1 and Level 2) positions. It is well-suited for aspiring IT professionals, network administrators seeking to transition into security roles, and cybersecurity practitioners interested in developing expertise with Splunk.

 

Topics include core cybersecurity principles, common threats and attack methodologies, and the structure and responsibilities of security operations centers. Students will gain hands-on experience with Splunk, learning how to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support defensive security practices. The course also explores investigative techniques, tools used by defense analysts, and an introduction to threat hunting.

By the end of the course, students will be equipped to conduct basic security investigations using Splunk and will be prepared to pursue the Splunk Cybersecurity Defense Analyst certification.
