Stanly Community College (SCC) and Montgomery Community College (MCC) have officially signed an articulation agreement to expand educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in game development. This partnership allows students who complete MCC’s IT – Game and Simulation Certificate program to seamlessly transfer their credits toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Simulation and Game Development at SCC.
This agreement strengthens SCC’s commitment to providing students a clear pathway to further their education and career prospects in the dynamic and growing game development field. By enabling MCC students to transition smoothly into SCC’s program, the collaboration supports workforce development and enhances educational access for students in the region.
SCC President, Dr. John Enamait, and MCC President, Dr. Chad Bledsoe, signed the agreement, highlighting the shared commitment of both institutions to expanding educational opportunities. “The partnership between Stanly and Montgomery is something special,” said Enamait. “By working together, we create more seamless pathways for students to advance their education and careers.” Bledsoe echoed this sentiment, adding, “This collaboration demonstrates our dedication to growing programs that serve our communities and support workforce development in emerging industries.”
“We are excited to partner with Montgomery Community College to expand opportunities for students in simulation and game development,” said Adam Carriker, Simulation and Game Development Program Head at SCC. “This agreement helps students develop foundational skills needed for careers or additional degrees in game design, programming, or interactive media.”
The Simulation and Game Development program at SCC provides students with hands-on experience in game design, 3D modeling, programming, and animation, preparing them for careers in the entertainment, healthcare, education, and military simulation industries.
