Dr. Edward Croom, President of University of Mount Olive and Dr. John Enamait sign articulation agreement to benefit SCC students.
Albemarle, NC – Stanly Community College (SCC) and the University of Mount Olive (UMO) recently signed an articulation agreement, effective immediately, allowing SCC Agribusiness graduates to easily transfer into the University’s bachelor’s degree program as a junior.
SCC has numerous agreements with four-year institutions, aimed at simplifying and streamlining the transfer process and minimizing the duplication of coursework. This, however, is the first agreement for the Agribusiness program, which began in 2016.
“Student success is one of our three key pillars and the University of Mount Olive shares in that philosophy, which makes this agreement a logical one,” said Dr. John Enamait, President of Stanly Community College. “We are excited to build new bridges with four-year institutions to help students advance their education, especially here today with the University of Mount Olive.”
“We are excited to partner with SCC,” said University of Mount Olive President Dr. H. Edward Croom. “This represents a key pathway for students to start at SCC and finish at UMO.”
“There are numerous opportunities for students coming to UMO from SCC’s outstanding agribusiness technology program,” said UMO Dean of Agriculture and Biological Sciences Dr. Sandy Maddox. “Agriculture is an economically impactful industry in North Carolina. At UMO, we pride ourselves in the fact that graduates from our ag programs have a job placement rate of 100% within six months of graduation.”
UMO is the only private institution in NC that offers multiple Bachelor of Science Degrees in Agriculture, including Agribusiness. With this agreement, SCC graduates have the option to complete the coursework online or in person.
