Albemarle, NC – The Stanly Community College (SCC) Foundation recently announced the establishment of the Gwyn Early Childhood Education Scholarship by the Rockingham County Partnership for Children in memory of Jule and Trish Gwyn.

The couple dedicated countless hours of their time to the Rockingham County Partnership for Children. They believed the best way to ensure the future of Rockingham County and the country was by helping all children enter school healthy and ready to succeed. The Rockingham County Partnership for Children’s Gwyn Early Childhood Education Endowment provided funding for this scholarship.

Six annual scholarships in the amount of $1000 are designated for students enrolled in SCC’s Early Childhood Education degree program and will be available starting the fall 2022 semester. Recipients of the scholarship must also be working in a Rockingham County Early Childhood licensed facility with children ages birth to five. Scholarship applications are now being accepted, and are located on the financial aid page at www.stanly.edu.
