Share Your Creativity

Our SCC Art Show returns this spring, and it's your chance to share your creative skills and become a tool of inspiration for the College and community.

Each year we are blown away at the creative talent showcased from traditional to digital mediums, photography, pottery, and wherever our community is finding their inspiration coming to life. Open to all mediums, this is your chance to help foster and be a part of the creative scene here at SCC.

The show will be held on the Stanly Community College
(SCC) Albemarle Campus in the Snyder Learning Resources Center. Show opens Monday, April 8 and closes Friday, April 19, with a reception held on Wednesday, April 10 at noon. The show will be open to the public for viewing during regular LRC hours.

SCC students, staff, and faculty are eligible to participate and may submit up to three entries each. The work must be the artist’s original design.

We request all entries be wired for hanging, but we do have limited space for works not prepped to hang. The show committee reserves the right to exclude entries deemed inappropriate, works not properly prepared for display, or works that require special installation or care.

Categories include, but are not limited to: oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink, collage, sculpture, pottery, photography, and digital art.

Your entry form will indicate a sale price or NFS (Not For Sale). Items sold may be picked up by the purchaser at the end of the show with proof of purchase. Sales will be handled through the individual artist, and SCC will assume no responsibility for payments or sales agreements.

To be announced at reception, held on Wednesday, April 10 at noon.

We request that all works remain on display for the duration of the show and be picked up promptly on removal day.

Works of art not picked up in a timely manner will be considered a donation to SCC.

The sponsors will exercise the best of care in handling all works.
However, submission of an entry is at the artist’s own risk and SCC will not be held liable for any loss or damage to any entry while it is in the possession of the school or its agents.
