Stanly Community College (SCC) is excited to announce its first-ever day of giving, a 24-hour event dedicated to making a lasting impact on the institution, its students and the future of education. SCC's The Day will take place on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, and aims to unite alumni, students, retirees, community partners and friends to support the College.
While it is true that annual days of giving are more common at traditional four-year colleges and universities, community colleges are also beginning to recognize the benefits of such initiatives.
"By participating in SCC's Day of Giving, we hope that individuals become part of a movement, demonstrating their love and dedication to the college that has played a vital role in the community's education and growth for over 50 years," said Jeania Martin, Executive Director of the SCC Foundation. "It's all about participation and the chance to show some SCC Eagle success stories."
Contributions will help SCC provide financial aid for students who can no longer afford college, meet emergency needs, strengthen technology and bolster new programs that enhance opportunities for underrepresented students. Even small donations can make a meaningful impact on SCC’s ability to provide quality education and support services.
Martin added several ways to support the inaugural SCC’s The Day.
