Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Description:
This 29-week online course is designed to educate technologists in the post-primary practice of magnetic resonance imaging. The course consists of 189 didactic hours and 411 clinical hours. Core topics include, but are not limited to patient interactions and management, safety and screening, physical principles of image formation, sequence parameters and options, data acquisition and processing, and magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Students will perform magnetic resonance examinations and related duties at various clinical sites under the supervision of magnetic resonance imaging technologists. Upon completion, students are eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) post-primary exam in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Students enrolling in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) course must already be ARRT registered or registry-eligible in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or Radiation Therapy. Upon successful MRI course completion, students may be eligible to sit for the ARRT MRI exam. After an in-person orientation, this course is a blend of online and clinical instruction.
